Winter is a lovely respite from the hot sun but it does come with its share of trouble. Winter plays havoc with best of skin complexions. But it doesn’t mean you go through winter with bad skin.
Here are few tips by Catch Now Delhi to protect your skin this winter.
Water Therapy
Dry skin loses lots of moisture, so drink lots of water. People tend to drink less water during winter but it is highly important that we keep our skin and body hydrated from within.
Lukewarm water Bath
Winter is the time when your skin needs maximum attention. Though bathing with hot water is tempting, avoid it completely. Piping hot water bath takes out the moisture from the skin, leaving it dry. Stick to lukewarm water and mild non drying soap to prevent your skin from drying.
Keep your skin moisturised
Opt for a good oil-based moisturiser to keep the skin soft and supple. You can also use almond oil or extra virgin olive oil to moisturise without blocking pores. Even people with oily skin should use light moisturising lotions after cleansing to keep the skin soft.
Put on the sunscreen
Sunscreen is not just for summertime. Winter sun can also damage your skin. Try applying a broad spectrum sun screen on all the exposed part of your body like hands, feet and face. Apply at least 30 minutes prior to stepping out and keep re applying if you are out for a long period of time.
Grease up your feet
Minty foot lotions are good for summer but in winter your feet need more than that. Look for lotions that contain petroleum jelly or glycerine. Exfoliate your feet regularly to get rid off dead skin. Then moisturize it with a soothing lotion.
