Rating: 3.5/5
Disclaimer: Yes, Catch Now doesn’t review all movies but this one needs to be put here because of the current scenario going on all over the country. No, not talking even about the storyline. Read on…
Here’s the review of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most controversial film, Padmaavat. According to me, one sure thing is going to happen is that Karni Sena and people who all are spreading violence across the country are going sit and cry after watching the movie.
Yes, I am saying it because movie focuses on the pride and honor of Rajputs and that’s what Karni Sena flags for!! Bhansali sir has shown deep feelings associated with the Rajputs. Their strong principles, their fair rules and believes. Moreover you’ll definitely become a Rajput fan at the end of the movie.
The Delhi Sultnat sultan, Allaudin Khilji has been portrayed by Ranveer Singh and his acting, his makeup, those terrifying eyes will captivate you. He has done a fantabulous job.
Just like another Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s signature movie, Padmaavat also has grand sets. Beautiful marbles, stones, luxury fabrics. It has all the required glam and costumes, jewelry, makeup. The cast is looking like real life Kings and Queens.
But the hype about what Karni Sena has been disclaiming about any reference to the Khilji and Rani Padmavati appearance is fake. There’s nothing of that sort and trust me its not worth the hype.
It is an average movie, good one time watch. But really not worth the hype, everyone has created. Be it media, Karni Sena, Director himself or political parties, the movie is based on historic drama. There’s no harm shown or portrayed for any character. There was no need of changing the name Padmavati to Padmaavat.
PS: The only reason Karni Sena could be angry at, that Rajputs believe that they didn’t loose against the Khilji’s.
